I was ill a few weeks ago and I was watching Jamie Oliver’s porridge 5 ways recipes and he was saying to cook the oats in milk and only add milk at the end otherwise it makes the bottom of the pan all sticky. We usually don’t use cow milk, rather rice or almond but there you go, learned something important!
Anyway we were feeling like a bit of berries so I put some frozen berries in a pan with some water and 1 individual bag of vanilla sugar. I don’t know if you can find it in England, I never have so I always buy it back in France when I’m there. Anyway, if you don’t have that you can always just put some sugar and add some vanilla essence.
My daughter asked to add seeds so she did: pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, desiccated coconut.
I ended up mixing in a bit of honey because it really wasn’t sweet enough and because of the tartness of the berries it needed to be balanced. Anyway, it was delicious!
